This blog will cover many topics for the Paranormal Investigator and the zillion teams around the world. You have to distinguish are you part of the group of sheep, or are you and your group leaders? We see things done the same way year after year, and the thinking is usually the same thinking when we first started.

Ever wonder why we don’t have a governing body, an association, a[pardon the expression,lol] union? The answer is simple, just try to get all the ego’s in the same room and try to get a simple task like being organized accomplished. Lets look at other hobbyist/professional groups that are organized. Photographers, Teachers, fisherman, boaters, Good Sam club and even nudist. They all have expected conduct guides, how to become better member, other than the nudist [ ok I don't know for sure]
they have guidelines on training, member certifications.

My group Paranormal Aid helps provide training for the disabled and home bound so they to can enjoy being a paranormal investigator. While reaching out to other teams nationwide, I heard great idea but our team doesn’t want to babysit anyone on an investigation. I heard great,but were too busy to help anyone,were here for our own fun.

Do you know that we have teams for the deaf, were they pair up with hearing investigators? What about minority teams? We have Tribal, nationalities, female teams, but you don’t hear or read about them because your world in the paranormal world has blinders. We have teams that specialize in Pet Paranormal, Children, demonology but unless you’re looking for one of these groups, you wont hear about them.

Most of you learn from what you have watched on television, and personally you suck as a professional. You don’t have to provoke to get responses, you don’t even have to get some spastic look on your face when a door slams. What you do need to do is shut up so you’re not talking over a spirit wanting to communicate.

How many times have you seen pictures on a website that their Orb isn’t anything but moisture, or a reflection off a bug, or nail head in a room. One group sent me their ORB FEST at a cemetery. Great evening winter picture, snow on the ground, and a current dusting of flakes, and lets not forget the 3 less than a KA-ZILLION orbs in the air. They were so proud of their mother load of ghostly orbs it’s now on their website. Another person sent me a picture of this little ghost girl in the open closet. But yet the heads of the people in the room weren’t in frame and by the way the bodies were positioned they werent the focal point of the picture. But yet the person’s statement was we were all shocked when we kept seeing this little girl in the closet door way. But yet one person sitting had her leg crossed and drink in hand turned to the opposite direction, no one was faced in the direction to see, and you can see it was staged.

So where do you sit on the getting organized as a professional group? Are you leaders or sheep? Only you can make the difference and group together and start making a change.

I hear of teams checking a clients facebook page to check them out before an investigation.

Do you agree with this practice to get insight of new clients and investigators, looking at friends who they follow. Is this right, wrong, or just a little over the top?

Where do you go from paranormal investigator, and snooping into peoples lives? you can argue great way to see if their paranormal junkies and were their next fix, you can even say its a great way to see if their talking about their experiences, or might be hiding something.

But the other side can say were not the social police, that were just hobbyists and a clients private life isn’t our goal.

I can say that we should know who were allowing into a clients property, and agree nothing wrong with professional background checks. I personally want to know if the only creepy scary thing I need to focus on is a spirit. Not my fellow investigator.

Our friend LT Cochran, Senior director for international for United Paranormal.Sent us his thoughts and I wanted to share with all of you, Do you agree or disagree? You decide.

Just a theory I have always had in mind which in turn deals with time slips and worm holes , and the thinning of the hypothetical veil between dimensions ..ok I told you I was thinking too much ..lol

Feel free to post it where ever you want or not at all , I dont need credit of any type so you can leave my information out of it if ya want . lol ( No way, you wrote you get the stink eye,lol ,,,Bob]

Its time for me to turn philosophical on you a moment..
Lets consider for a minute that , as most will agree, there is a higher level of (at Least ) Human conscienceless, which means that over a lifetime on this plane of existence anyway , we all “record ” to our memory banks a documented , though rarely accessed history and series of events from the day we take our first breath.
These recorded memories become stored in our grey matter hard drive for the remainder of our existence and rarely brought back to our recollection , but sometime sent rushing back as a major event may reboot that section of files, bringing us to wonder , what exactly could the rest of our brain be storing ? Now , humor me as I bring up a topic that you may have not considered yet, this hypothesis may go against the grain of some belief systems, but consider for a moment… Where exactly or better What exactly , is the Human Soul, or conscienceless ( Our “Personality” as gained through real life experiences ) as we know it, and where does this “Memory bank” end up after we die ?
Does it just stay buried with the flesh and bones of our human Vessel, or is this energy released into the atmosphere to wonder around various , currently unknown plane(s) we have yet to understand ?
We can all agree that there is factual, tangible evidence that the brain is made of millions of electrical “circuits”or actual firing pulses that create the existence we are so fond of now while we are breathing ..and we all can say without doubt , it has been proven through scientific means ,that energy can not be destroyed, only displaced…leaving us to wonder , just where IS that level of “conscience” energy, and is it , or could it be Recycled, giving Some degree of validity to the reincarnation theory , one which I don’t particularly tend to believe in…But however , is this energy lost forever in time and space ?

This brings me to my point finally, and I apologize , but I needed to set the stage for what I am asking you to consider. What if the Soul, Personality, whatever you choose to title it…is not even an integral part of the Human body , but what it is a Universal Broadcast or Spectral lightning storm , emanating for a much higher plane , and the Human body is nothing more than a receiver ?

To put that in perspective , consider the radio on your counter or that Hi Def TV in your living room…are the sounds and pictures coming From the TV or Radio … NO , they are a Receiver , and the sounds and sights they emit , is broadcast from transmitters, these instruments …they just bring them all together , and reconstruct them in order to allow the viewer to see them as they are meant to be ! So are these transmissions of Human frequencies wandering around in the ethereal planes until it finds a comparable receiver ?

Now , lets take this a step further…especially before the days of Digital services…the days of having to adjust the rabbit ears to see what you were trying to watch without interference coming from all the other 3 channels ..lol, as like AM frequency is to this day on the radio … sometime these channels get crossed , and receive feedback or interference from other transmissions in close proximity to the one you are listening to…leading us to wonder , are our memories, thoughts and stored data our recycled energy we know as the human conscience being crossed with other Transmissions and thus recreating a vision of our, or others Past memory banks, either by rebooting a section of the previous receivers hard drive, or even getting our wires crossed with other transmissions till the rabbit ears get adjusted ?

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME,

You heard of a group giving investigators an honorary spot on a team? You hear of teams and especially the people in the trenches doing some fantastic work, either in their community, or their paranormal community, that shares your values, ideas, and direction. Ever thought it would be good to have someone on the other side of the country or world to just share ideas with? Some one who can be there to bounce idea’s for events, give insight to new technology?

Hey everyone wants to feel wanted and know that other hold them in a special place. Its great some teams are now making alliances. But what if those current leaders are not their next year and the new person dont like being in the alliance? Dont get me wrong not throwing cold water on the alliances, I applaud what their doing, and frankly getting the ball rolling. Its taken us over 100 years to get this far. But don’t lose sight of those in the smallest groups doing some big things.

Your honorary member isn’t a way to gather more dues, I wouldn’t even except that as a practice, the honorary member should be brought into the fold, they can be a mentor, someone to share with, someone who you can be proud to have as part of the team.

I have a great mentor, he has helped me with ideas and I’m very proud he is an honorary member of Paranormal aid, he’s been part of our team since day 3 [ took me a bit to find him] Steve Hock, for those who don’t know the name he was the brain of the GHOSTLAB on the tv show with the same name. Silver Goatee gentleman that gave spirits a voice. See what TV don’t tell you was steve and his wife were retired educators, and worked with disable children and adults. He was the one who inspired my version on a small ghost lab for remote transfer of evidence. It’s so simple but it took a person like steve to get me thinking. Steve is a down to earth guy who loves to fish. So I never abused our friendship but always remind him how grateful we are to have him spark ideas so we can help teams open the door to disabled investigators

Paranormal Leaders { Reaching Out Only Takes 2 }

Reaching out to other investigator, and your community.

What some great events some of you are planning this year, and opening up to everyone is great to see. Like Savannah paranormal weekend to a lighthouse, Blackwolfs, food drive, I’ll post them as I see them, great ways to reach out to other investigators, and the community.

How many of you reach out lately to other teams to come out on an investigation. It doesn’t have to be a whole team how an invite to their founder or team head or their designate [s] ?
We think unity is a mass movement , how about a movement of one or 2 at a time? Getting to know your neighboring teams. Here is excuses ive personally heard, we don’t like them or them not liking us, 10 years ago they were on our team. Crap people, times change, people change, and people get voted out.

I had a team leader once say they will steal our ways of doing things, lol, what a joke, show me your copy right, your Patton, your ways have been tried forgotten and reworked. Paranormal Aid isn’t a new Idea that my team came up with, theres teams for the deaf, teams with people with all sorts of disabilities. But I had a person not wanting me to share this because they will rip off “our” idea. I have Parkinson’s and this person wanted me to put it in my will turning Paranormal Aid over to them. Luck these type of people come and go, hope they just go.

Here is how I see unity, don’t look at teams to unite, just need those who see the advantages in making investigators stronger with more uniform education, this would help people understand a nail head in a wall looks like an orb, or moisture. They can learn audio, and photo analysis, so no matter if your part of a 2 member team or a mega group. It helps us help debunk fakes, that hurt us all. And many more positive things. But it starts with 2 investigators, one reaching out to another, where positive thinking trumps the negative nay sayers.

I hear those who can sit and tell us why it wont work, well how about taking that same bit of time and share how it can work, if you think you’re the hottest investigator or run the best team great go away we don’t need your ego we need your positive thinking.

Paranormal Leaders { Sharing, Uniting, Reaching Out }

As we go day to day in our paranormal investigation world, we forget.

We forget that we share an interest that many around the world share our same interests. No matter how our countries feel about each other, we as paranormal investigators, get that same feeling inside, the same pride in our found evidence. But we forget to reach out to other teams, let them see that our noses are in the same place.

We all love paranormal stories, this is proven by the numbers who watch the television shows, listen to paranormal radio, and even read paranormal blogs. I love reading about other teams investigations, the interesting locations, the funny things that happen, and the hair-raising EVP’s.

Here’s the problem, were so caught up into our own group, we don’t take time to hear about other groups, Oh my god we might learn some thing new, instead we think, Oh my god I slipped and now everyone knows our secret.

I knew one closed-minded leader who didn’t like to socialize with other groups they might steal our idea’s or our training material. Well wake up bucky, as people move from one group to another they find most well kept secrets are pretty much common knowledge.

If you’re a 2 person team right now, your just getting started, why not ask for some guidance from a larger team. If your larger team how about taking a smaller team under your wing, while helping them please dont talk down to them. You two were the green pea in the field at one time. If you are a small team and have questions ask me at facebook paranormal aid page. If I can’t help you I will find a team that can.

As many teams and smart creative people we have, if you have a new toy you made that helps open new doors and minds, share it with all of us. Lets say you want to get a group of investigators to work on an idea, project, how about putting the word out. This will open the doors of shared knowledge and UNITING. We talk about it, but like most thing talking is as far as some get to uniting.

Paranormal Aid, Paranormal Leaders, and A.G.H.O.S.T. in Seattle worked together on a project to help bring in more disabled team members and give them the training to becoming vital team members. This was proof one idea can blossom into an idea that reaches out and shares a little knowledge to help others. We make this available to teams.

It’s a sad fact that many teams are into this for entertainment purposes, or self promotion, and if this is your team, then this site isn’t for you. But if what were doing go’s beyond that way of thinking, then make 2012 the year we start opening our minds, and our doors to new ways, new teams. Keep coming back here, and to the facebook page Paranormal Aid, we will show you how to grow your team, have more fun, and learn more about other fine folks just like you.

Paranormal Leaders {a New Group with new Directions}

This group caught my eye and asked them to share an intro here for you to get to know them.

Dear Bob,

As requested, I am writing to you about our team, it’s direction for 2012, and our views on para-unity of teams, and how we can all achieve it. Thank-you so much for your interest in our team! We are truly honored!

AllyKat has 4 members at this time, including myself. We hope to expand our membership in the coming months to 6-8 team members. We may be small, but we believe we accomplish a lot together, as a team. We are based out of Macon, Georgia and serve the entire Southeast. We never charge for our services, nor do we ask for, or accept gifts or donations. I have suffered from major depression most all of my adult life, a disability in it’s own right. And so, had no qualms about helping an interested young man in his dream to investigate with a paranormal team! I have not regretted my decision! Ethan is truly an inspiration, and an integral part of our team! Our philosophy is simple, everyone is important, and has a gift/a talent to give to this field!

As founder of the AllyKat team, I adhere to strict guidelines of ethics within the paranormal field, both in our investigations, in how we treat the client, and other paranormal teams. I expect my team members to do the same. We believe that next, only to the client’s needs and privacy, that we are responsible for setting an example of professional ethics within the paranormal community. We all can achieve this through RESPECT! Respect for ourselves, and for other paranormal teams is paramount if we are to thrive as a team, and a community. We all know the difference between right and wrong. We respect ourselves as a team by always choosing to do the right thing, even if faced with conflict from another individual, or team within the paranormal community.

Some of our goals and visions for 2012 are to become active within our own hometown community, by volunteering our time and name to worthwhile projects and charities. We aim to prove that most of those involved in paranormal research are everyday citizens, and not quacks.. We are also tossing about the idea of hosting a state-wide meet-and-greet for all interested investigators and teams! We are excited about this prospect, and hope to continue with this idea to fruitation, within the next couple of years!

Paranormal Leaders { A leader makes her point}

I will post to this blog as it is written to me anyones point of view that works to make us better investigators or unites us as a strong group. And here is from one of our leaders, post your comments agree or disagree.

I would like to propose this topic and see what kind of responses i would receive.

As most of us , who are paranormal investigators, do not charge for investigations, others have different agendas.. Some charge for investigating, some for psychic readings, some for other types of services, etc.  I have some opinions of my own to share and try and shed some light on both sides..

Various, supposed haunted ,locations do charge to investigate them, but a lot of that money goes toward restoration or keeping the place open to the public.. That to me is ok.  Psychics..charge for a reading.. also, i am ok with.. Psychics claim to have a gift to see and feel things that we may not be able to. Or to speak to the other side to loved ones who have passed.. Some psychics are better than others and there are fraudulent ones out there as well doing cold readings. But who are we to say they have a gift or not.. It is our own decision to pay for this service whether we choose to or not.

Charging for house investigations , in my opinion, are wrong.. A good investigator will go to assist in helping the client to understand any paranormal activity going on in the home , making them feel safer and less worried about the noises, shadows, what have you.

As an investigator, i work a lot with the ghost box.. A ghost box is a radio modified to continue scanning back and forth.  The theory behind this technique is that the spirits can use the fragments of radio and the frequency to form messages in real time.. It is a hard sell for people to believe but all i ever ask of people is that they keep an open mind and give it a try.. because anyone can do this..

My point? Well, recently, i came across an event coming up, where a certain individual will be using the ghost box.. The fee to listen to it in the gallery among others is $35 per person.. and individual readings will be available for $120 for a 20 min. session. That is crazy.. Anyone can take a regular radio and manually scan back and forth and ask questions to see if they can get answers.. Why pay someone these astronomical prices and take his word as to what it is saying? Again, we make our own choices to pay for this service and to each his own..

My question is this… Are people who charge a fee for a services, willing to help people or just  make quick money.. If the charge is small and doesn’t hurt anyone, i suppose it can be acceptable, but with charges so high, makes one wonder, if the motives are genuine.  As well as the people…
